TUCKED HALF BLOOD KNOT
This is probably the most common knot used in fishing for
attaching a hook, fly or lure. Tied properly it is reliable but we
do not recommend it for use with extremely low diameter line.
To tie, pass the end of the line through the hook, fly or lure
and double it back on itself away from the eye.
Take the end four or five times around the standing line and take
back to the eye. Immediately in front of the eye is the first loop
made by taking the end around the line.

Tuck the end through this first loop and you will see a large
loop formed by taking the end from the last turn to the first loop.
Pass the end through this large loop and gently tighten and moisten
in the process

Useful tip - Before starting to make the turns
around the main line place your finger and thumb on the two strands
of line immediately in front of the eye.
Tie as described but when you come to take the end back to the
eye and through the first loop just slip your finger and thumb onto
the hook or lure and you will find a nice big loop to pass the end
through.
If you merely twist the end five times around the main line from
the eye you often don't leave enough room to put the end through the
first loop.
