The fishery: is new and only opened in October 2002 and
has fished extremely well during the winter months. It is about 5
acres with a small island at one side with some deeper water
alongside.
Even before the water opened there were huge hatches of black
buzzers, masses of olives and numerous corixa and snail to be seen
so as the lake matures it has the potential of producing exceptional
imitative fishing in the clear spring fed water.
Buzzers work very well on this water and as the season progresses
olive imitations, hawthorns, hoppers, daddies, corixa, shrimp and
damsel patterns will all work very well.
Consistent lures are black or black and green tadpoles, white
tadpoles, orange fritz, cats whisker, dawsons olive, menace varient.
Good general nymphs for here are ptn, grhe, daiwl bach, silver black
ribbed and bloodworm.
Rod hire is available and flies can be purchased
There is an excellent lodge by the car park and snacks etc can be
purchased and there is even a shower facility as well as toilets.
Disabled access enables cars to be taken right down to the lake.
