Fishing Method: This fly fishes well all year on
floating and sinking lines. Excellent fly for encouraging takes on
the drop and if used with a sinking line you get loads of takes
using the "hang" method at the very end of the retrieve. It
works well on all sizes of water throughout the country and is a
superb fly on Esthwaite. Can be used as a damsel imitation. Favourite
retrieves are several slow to medium pulls followed by a pause of
a few seconds and this stirs up resident fish. Slow
figure-of-eight also works very well and of course it will get
plenty of fish stripped back fast if trout are in a chasing mood.
