EPOXY BUZZER
 Tying:
| Hook |
Heavy wire 10-18 wet fly hook ( a grub hook
can be used for curved effect) |
| Thread |
Black or to match body colour |
| Body |
Use tying thread in black, olive and green,
orange or whatever colour you local buzzers come in. |
| Rib |
Fine silver wire or fine pearl lurex. |
| Thorax |
Build up from tying thread and tie in orange
goose biots behind thorax along both sides to form wing
cases. |
| Finish |
Coat entire body with epoxy and allow to dry
turning fly so that epoxy does no run. Superglue can be
used to produce a lighter fly. |
Fishing Method: Best fished very slowly on a floating
line and long leader, because of its weight the fly cuts rapidly
through the surface film and gets to fishing
depth quickly. Watch
out for lots of takes on the drop. A slow figure-of-eight retrieve
is good and if there is a lot of buzzer activity fairly fast
stripping can work well. Also a good fly to use with a sight
indicator exploring different depths. Back
